Jimmy John's Picklewich Is Back: The Breadless Sandwich Returns October 26 — With Blind-Bag Pickle Pals

The sandwich with no bread is back, and this time it brings friends. Jimmy John's announced on October 21 that its fan-favorite Picklewich — a sandwich that swaps the bun for a giant dill pickle — returns to participating locations nationwide on Monday, October 26, for a limited run through November 23. It is the third year in a row for the pickle-as-bread creation, and 2026 adds a new twist: the Triple Pickle Meal, launching October 27, pairs the sandwich with pickle-flavored chips and a blind-bag plush keychain. If you missed it the last two years, this is the window — and if you collect, the clock is even tighter.

What Is the Picklewich?

Bread Out, Pickle In

The Picklewich takes a regular Jimmy John's sandwich and replaces the French bread with two halves of a "Jimmy Pickle" — a giant dill pickle, hollowed out to make room for the fillings. The result is cold, crunchy, salty, and vinegary in a way bread simply cannot be: every bite delivers the snap of a pickle with the substance of a deli sandwich. It is also, not incidentally, a low-carb build, which is part of why it found an audience beyond the novelty factor. The original flavors, Vito and Turkey, return alongside Ham, Roast Beef, Tuna, and Veggie, which joined the lineup last year.

The Six Builds

Choose Your Picklewich

Every build mirrors its bread-based counterpart, minus the bun:

  • Vito Picklewich: salami, capocollo, provolone, onion, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar, and oregano-basil
  • Turkey Picklewich: turkey, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise
  • Ham Picklewich: ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise
  • Roast Beef Picklewich: roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise
  • Tuna Picklewich: tuna salad, cucumber, lettuce, and tomato
  • Veggie Picklewich: double provolone, avocado spread, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise

Alongside the sandwiches, Pickle Jimmy Chips — pickle-flavored potato chips — return as well. One note for returning fans: the pickle ranch introduced last year is noticeably absent from this year's menu.

The Triple Pickle Meal and the Pickle Pals

This Year's New Angle: Collectible Plushies

Starting Tuesday, October 27, you can order the Triple Pickle Meal: your choice of Picklewich, a bag of Pickle Jimmy Chips, and one Pickle Pal — a small plush pickle keychain in a blind bag. There are five characters to collect: Lulu, J.J., Big John, Vito, and Tom, with Tom described by Jimmy John's as ultra-rare (the company has not published the odds). The surprise is the point: you cannot request a specific character or exchange one, and there is a limit of one Pickle Pal per person, per transaction. The plushies are available only with the Triple Pickle Meal, only in-store or at the drive-thru, and only while supplies last — so the collectible window may close well before November 23. Note that the meal does not include a drink, so plan accordingly.

Dates, Prices, and How to Get One

The Calendar That Matters

Mark two dates, not one. The Picklewich and Pickle Jimmy Chips go on sale October 26 and can be ordered a la carte. The Triple Pickle Meal — the only way to get a Pickle Pal — starts October 27. Everything ends November 23, or earlier if the plushies sell out. Prices vary by location, and Jimmy John's has not announced a nationwide meal price, so check your local shop or jimmyjohns.com before you go. And if the plushie is the whole reason for your trip, October 27 is your date, not the 26th.
